The best way to really experience the US West Coast & Yosemite National Park is to hire a Wicked Campervan doods! Grab a van in Los Angeles and cruise up the coast through Santa Cruz, onto beautiful San Francisco & across to Yosemite National Park...
Smoke a few ciggies, sink a few tinnies, start up your Wicked Camper and put the pedal to the metal baby. If you really wanted too, you could drive from LA to San Francisco in a day. Fuck that though, break the drive up over a few days and take your time. It’s not a race man.
Chill in Santa Barbara, cruise on up to San Luis Obispo, and maybe even take a tour of Hearst Castle in San Simeon. California is so freakin’ big, its goddamn mind blowing.
I hope you've made up a sweet mixtape, because the Pacific Coast Highway is the dream of road trip songs. Windows down, the feeling of the salty sea breeze through your hair, every angle a postcard-perfect panorama of the majestic Pacific Ocean.
Known by some as a mecca for surfers, free spirits and nature lovers, Santa Cruz is a top place to visit. Check out the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, hit up the amusements and take a ride on the legendary wooden roller coaster. Just don't drive your Wicked Camper on the rollercoaster. That would be fucking stupid.
Hop out your campervan and stroll along beaches world famous for their surfing, go shopping on Pacific Avenue or spend a day at many of the awesome Flea Markets. The Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, located at Lighthouse Point on West Cliff Drive, is also pretty rad. Here you'll find collections chronicling more than 120 years of local surfing history.
The Santa Cruz Wharf is the longest wooden pier in California and one of the oldest in the state. Park up your campervan and walk to the very end of the pier to see sexy sea lions basking in the sun. As the sun goes down, chill out along the wharf and enjoy a sensational sunset. Bliss.
San Francisco has so much to offer man! Cruise around the city in your Wicked Camper, soaking up infamous sites such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Union Square and heaps more!
Spend a day in Golden Gate Park, indulge your artistic side at the De Young Museum or if you're still sober and want to actually learn something, check out the California Academy of Sciences. Make your way to the Golden Gate Bridge and hope Godzilla doesn't leap out of the water and smash it in half. If this happens, then I imagine you'd be pretty stressed. Why not grab a burrito at a local taqueria, it'll help you forget about it, maybe.
When you've had enough, jump back in your campervan and set across to Yosemite. The drive to the Big Oak Flat entrance takes just under 4 hours, just avoid weekends if possible as traffic will be a pain in the ass.
Enjoy the fresh air and breath-taking views of Yosemite National Park. With breathtaking sierras in the distance and some of the most beautiful views you could ever imagine, Yosemite is one of the most incredible places on earth. Pretend you’re in Jurassic Park and run around with a stick in your mouth. Wait, which scene was that? Wtf. Anyway, from Half Dome and El Capitan to Tuolumne Meadows and the High Country, Yosemite offers something very special indeed.
Park up your campervan and go hiking dudes! There's trails fucking everywhere. When you're all puffed out, get cosy with your loved one underneath the stars. Just no sexy business. The bears are watching.
It’s worth noting that Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks are close by, so if time isn’t an issue on your Wicked roadtrip, make sure you check 'em out too.
